Maths

My maths buddy and I solved question number 2
Keahn invited 35 guests to his birthday party, however, only five sevens of the
guests were able to come. How many of the guests will be able to attend?

This a photo of my working out:

We figured out that one seventh was 5. Then we found out that five sevenths (5 x 5)
was 25. This was our final answer - Keahn had 25 people come to his party.

Swim safety

So first we got in to groups and then in my group we had to huddle then hold on each other on the life jacket. Then we let go to the person on the left then right after the left then we switched. On the next day we lined up. We had to jump in the pool then swim on our back. We had to help people on to a bout and then we hopped off. Then we flipped the boat and then one at a time we went under then under again then when we went out we went into a huddle

swimming

I went swimming in weeks 5 and 6. I'm in the blue group. It's a long walk but I can handle it. Then we hop in and do a lesson. At the end we play mushroom and then we hope out and get changed. Then we normally go on the play ground. Sometimes I see my mum on the way there or back. Then we walk back we go stop at two traffic lights then back to Hoon Hay School.

Maths

Maths is not always about numbers (like 4632-7324 = ). There are other ways of doing maths, including visual ways. This picture shows a dinosaur graph. It is still maths even though it doesn't have numbers!

Get NZ writing

I have been exploring metaphors and descriptive writing through the ‘Get NZ writing’. Here is one of my metaphors that I have created:

Ryley is a bacon and lettuce sandwich on thick white brea as white as clouds.

Poetry

In writing I have used a poem by James K. Baxter as a starting point to write my own poem. I hope you like it:

Flynn’s party was usual enough;
It had balloons, chips, cake, party food and even presents.
Flynn, Ethan and I did what boys do at parties -
Played halo on the xbox, ate food, threw water balloons, played in Flynn’s room, and played lego.

Doing nothing important

Koru art

For the last couple of weeks I have been creating my own koru art based on the work of Raewyn Harris. She is a New Zealand artist and you can look at her work on this link.
I have enjoyed creating this masterpiece, and I hope you enjoy it too!
